The Miracle
On Wednesday 3rd October as I was walking my old
girl Boom Boom around the
neighborhood, a strange flash suddenly entered my head and I
said to my doggie:
“Oh oh, it seems that there’s an old yellow boy who wants to
come stay with us.
He just came to tell me he was on his way & his name is
Benjamin!”
Boom Boom cocked her head and looked at me; ‘so… what’s new?
There’s always another one!’
Boom Boom
“Yeah, I know, but we have to stop now, I’m too old &
tired to keep looking for money.
Why is there never enough Boom Boom? We still have more
doggies & pussy cats to
help. Why doesn’t the universe provide for you guys?”
This was always a constant worry and I was determined to
solve this problem by
studying and applying the Law of Attraction.
I soon realized what I was doing wrong. Always focusing on
not having enough
manifested exactly that. Whatever we think about becomes
more. What a dilemma.
I had to imagine I already had more than enough, but then
there was this little voice in
my head always going: But that’s a lie!
When I imagined the big picture – what really is needed for
the project to complete –
I’d collapse from exhaustion just at the thought of the
amount of money necessary.
I had to focus on feeling good for it to become reality and
instead I am pushing it further
away from myself because I am simply too physically drained
to feel good anymore.
As we came back from our walk, I said to my precious dog; “We
need a miracle, I need
to believe again. I need to know with 100% certainty that
all you guys will be okay or I’ll
go crazy Boom Boom!”
That evening as I was working online I kept getting
distracted by a persistent mental
image of an old yellow dog needing help. I thought it was
just my imagination wanting to
block my progress, so rather than fight against it, I
decided to listen to a training seminar
about abundance. The coach was saying that, rather than
trying to manifest the big picture
all at once, it was better to start by creating small miracles
and work your way up.
Also in order for this system to work, one had to be in a
place of gratitude and of course
this is always easy for me. I am so grateful for all the
animals we have already rescued.
So many over the years I can not even remember them all, but
I do know the joy they
brought into my life. How happy I always was when we brought
them to the sanctuary
and when they found loving homes.
The coach also stated that ‘our passion is our abundance
within’.
Wealth comes from following your passion and bringing your
gift into the world.
Hm……how was this going to work for Love Animal House I was
pondering as I went to
sleep that night.
The next day I got an email from Joy Huss who works to help
temple dogs in our
community. She had to cancel an appointment we had because
she was with a search
team out looking for an old dog missing from the temple
since the day before.
I thought about my vision of the old yellow dog and decided
to phone Joy to ask her what
color the dog was, but her phone was on voice mail. That was
Thursday afternoon. I
didn’t hear from Joy until Sunday evening when she sent another
email to say that
dozens of people had searched for the dog, day & night;
there were flyers out everywhere
and a reward of 4000 baht to anyone who found him. They
still had search teams out 3
times a day. She feared he’d gone off to die somewhere and
he’d never be found.
I mailed back that I’d be glad to go with her the next day,
but she replied that she had a
big search team organized the next morning so there was no
need for me to take time off
work to go along. I asked her to email me his picture &
a map of the area he was lost in.
By Wednesday evening the dog hadn’t been found yet and I
received another mail with
the flyer of the missing dog. I couldn’t believe it when I
saw it was an old yellow dog
named Ben! I then realized his spirit had been trying to contact
me since the week before
and that I was the one who had to find him!
Then Joy called and asked if I wanted to come with her to
look for him, she was on the
verge of giving up. Not even one person had seen him!
It was late by then and I told her I didn’t know where to
find him now. I needed to
go to print out the map to study and that I would go with
her the next day. At this point
Ben had been missing for a week but something told me that I
personally had to go look
for him the next day. Don’t worry I said to Joy, who was tearful
& exhausted by now,
tomorrow we will find him. Go home & get some sleep.
That evening I was the one who was sleepless. I had to
manifest Ben! That was what the
coach said. Start with something close to heart first. I had
to find the ol’ boy. I had to
make Joy happy again. She had taken him out of a dog shelter
where he had been one
of 180 dogs for years already since he had been taken in
from the streets. No one ever
wanted to adopt him. Joy wanted to give him a final peaceful
time and some special
attention under the temple program but he disappeared within
the first 48 hours. Joy
blamed herself but I told her not to worry, her intention
was good, when he was found,
he could go to Love Animal House so he didn’t have to go
back to the shelter.
Noel, our old Labrador
passed away of old age a week ago so Ben could have his bed.
Ben would be safe there and cared for as his health
declined.
So now I had to create a minor miracle. A long time ago I’d
heard about dowsing, now I
was desperate so I had to give anything a try. I tied a
string on my engagement ring and
held it above Ben’s picture. I asked him how he was and the
ring started to swirl around
to the right. He was still alive but I could sense
dehydration & weakness. He was near a
canal and very hungry. When I looked at the map I realized
it was useless. The dog didn’t
follow the roads, that’s why nobody had seen him. I had to
draw my own map. Although
I’d never physically been in that area, I was able to verify
the next day that my map was
very accurately showing trails around the rice fields. Since
he didn’t move very fast due
to his age I guessed he could cover one kilometer a day, so
he could be 7 km’s away –
unless of course he’d walked in a circle. Which was exactly
what had happened. It had
taken him 7 days to walk around the rice field.
Joy & I got there an hour before he appeared. I started
at the beginning of the trail & soon
picked up his energy, he had been there going straight
ahead. I then looked across the
rice field and saw the trail continue on the other side. I
dowsed the map and picked up a
strong signal on the north trail. I went back to the car and
asked Joy to drive as close as
she could to the opposite side of the rice field. We had to
park and walk a bit to get onto
the track north of the field. We walked a while and found
the other road leading off the
track which I’d already drawn on my map. “He’s on this road
right now,” I said.
I dowsed but didn’t pick up his signal. This is where he
will come out I thought. “Wait
here”, I said to Joy, “I’ll run along the canal track until
I find the entrance to this road
further down. I ran about 500 meters when I came across a
wide bridge leading over the
canal. I dowsed and picked up a strong signal. The ring was
swinging around very fast. I
crossed the bridge and found the road at the top. I headed
back towards Joy and saw her
on the track down below me. But where was Ben? I sensed he
was so close but we had to
hurry or it’d be too late. But when we got to the car we
realized it would be foolish to
venture Joy’s car across that dirt road full of holes as it
was getting dark and not knowing
where it would end up. Reluctantly we decided that it would
be wiser to come back the
next morning with the sanctuary pick up truck. As I jumped in
the car to go back, I was
arguing with myself. ‘No, I’m so sure we will find him
today. I just don’t understand it.
I thought it would be today.’
Just then Joy was
driving across the main canal bridge in front of the temple when I saw
Ben’s frail body walking across the bridge in front of us.
“There he is Joy, right in front
of us!” “No, that’s not him, he’s bigger than that.”
Although I’d never seen Ben in
person I insisted; Stop the car! I jumped out and ran after
him. He was by then on the way
down the canal to the waters edge. “Ben, Ben” I yelled. He
stopped and started wobbling
towards me. He was ready to collapse.
I was able to wisp him into my arms without any
struggle and deliver him to Joy, who was over the moon with
excitement.
“It is him, it’s Ben! It’s a miracle! I can’t believe it.
He’s safe!”
Well, Ben restored my faith in miracles but I have to laugh
when I think about ‘law of
attraction’ and how you always get what you focus on.
So of course I manifested another dog and some more bills!
But at least I know now that miracles are possible. The
reward money helped to pay
for another street dog’s chemo-therapy bill which had been
outstanding for a while.
Ben is now looking very relieved hanging out on the porch at
Love Animal House with
the other two seniors, Booboo & Hero the blind temple
dog. Unfortunately I can’t hang
out with them at the moment because I have to get back to
the drawing board to figure
out another even greater miracle. For all our animals to
live happily ever after, it has to be
a big one! So please, please universe… don’t let me start
thinking about elephants!
We need the green stuff!

Here are some more doggies who live at Love Animal Sanctuary in Thailand;
Longan loves to eat fruit. She begs every morning for her banana, she can't wait to get it. Loves every kind of fruit and eats very little dog food. We discovered her funny taste buds when we had the monkeys and she would beg from them. They used to feed her even peanuts. Perhaps she was a monkey in her last life?
We got her from the dog groomer because she had been dumped on their doorstep in a deplorable condition about 6 years ago with ear & flea infection & E.Canis. She will live out her days in peace.
Booboo was an abandoned dog in the village who had to fend for himself for many years. By the time we picked him up he was a walking skeleton filled with fleas & sores all over his body. Today he lives the good life and is cared for in his old age.
PETA was rescued at a market when a cruel vendor threw boiling oil on him because he was begging for chicken. He was covered in 3rd degree burns & also had lung disease when we picked him up 4 years ago.
It took 6 months for his wounds to heal but today he is healthy and happy with his best friend Mook;
Mook's mother was poisoned by villagers but we managed to rescue her 5 puppies. Mook's sister Mini still lives at LAH but the two sisters don't get on so they're in separate compounds.
Mini is very jealous of any attention given to her sister.
Bruno was picked up at a nightclub in the city where he used to beg for food and sleep on the street in front.
He was riddled with blood parasites which took 3 months of expensive treatment to clear. Today he is a happy boy who loves to sing along when he hears music. Must be remembering his past life at the noisy club.
Charlie is Bruno's best friend. They romp & play all day. Charlie was dumped at our cow shelter 3 years ago as a tiny pup. He is always happy and looking for fun.
We have many more lovely doggies at our dog home who came to us because there was no one else to care for them.Your support is much needed to carry on our animal welfare work in our community. Thank You!
