Announcement: Elephants - beggars & Marianne OFF THE STREET!

The street life is coming to a close now for me, as our new Thai website is almost online for membership sign ups. It's been 17 months since I started the CM animal welfare campaign and it has so far been a great success
and a very interesting time for me. I've met many lovely supportive people and also have been able to help a lot of animals into better situations along the way. This is the power of teamwork. Thanks to all of you.

However before I loose touch with the market place there are two things which concern me that I must conclude before I retire to blogging. My first priority for the campaign was to get the begging elephants off CM streets, but I've since encountered minor children, homeless women and handicapped people who have no other means of survival than begging. Although there is no government assistance there are NGO's who deal with these kind of cases and we will proceed to make contact on behalf of these under-privileged people of our society.

At this moment I would like to ask present members with a badge to please wear them when you go out.
Then you'll also be able to recognize other animal lovers and meet new friends.
Soon we will be online and need as much support as possible, after all we need 50,000 people to reach the goal - HOWEVER - in the meantime, surely we don't need that many people to get the elephants off the street in Chiang Mai?
"Why wait, let's do it now", says Chupitaya Pramoopan Manager of C Station at JJ Market.
After signing up as One Voice for Animals campaign member last week he banned the elephants from begging at his restaurant. Great initiative!
I say, why stop here? Let's get the whole street involved and have a Beer CHANG Rally to get the elephants out of CM and all Thai cities and into designated areas set aside for them by the government.
TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT!

Stay tuned here for more action.
